Automatic Density & Tub Level

Control Mixing System

Description
Model ACM®-IV Automatic Density & Tub Level Control System developed by Serva Corporation is an advanced, accurate computer controlled system for maintaining desired density and a preselected tub level. The computer auto control system helps the operator improve job performance and makes the job easier.

Key Features

  1. It can control the tub level automatically. This is the main difference between ACM® -III and ACM® -IV Tub Level Control: The control software analyzes the measured tub level, slurry yield design, water required design, the measured slurry discharge and the desired tub level design. Then it calculates a desired proportional water valve percentage open to satisfy the desired tub level. Thus it controls the mix water flow. The operator only needs to adjust the downhole pumping as required for the job, the control system does the rest. The tub level is controlled and adjusted via a proportional control valve, which is automatically controlled by the computer. The ultrasonic level meter measures the actual tub level and sends the measured value to the computer. With the measured slurry discharge, the desired tub level, the slurry yield design, the water required design and actual tub level, the computer calculates the required water valve position. A command signal is sent to the hydraulic actuating system to adjust the opening of the water valve and thus controls the tub level to the set range
  2. Slurry temperature measurement :The system has an optional slurry temperature measurement which is recorded along with other job parameter.
  3. The ACM®-IV system allows the operator to annotate the data with“event makers” that describe different significant events that occurred during the job such as “drop top plug” and “start” displacement”. There are 38 different predefined possible event makers. After the job is complete, the reports created in SERVAview® will show where the event occurred and what happened. After the job is ended, the customers can use those events to give a data report or print curve directly. Thus they can know exactly which event and the time of the events during the job.
  4. The simulation system is different from ACM®-III. If the simulation is on, the water valve can be changed. The program simulates the amount of water according to the percentage the water valve is open. Items needed for the tub level system:
    a. Level sensors.
    b. Slurry rate sensors.
    c. Proportional electro- hydraulic control valve.
    d. Water valve actuator and position sensors.
